The Ashton VSG is the highly sought after offering from Ashton. Master blender Carlito Fuente insisted on using an ultra-rare Virgin Sungrown Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. This prozed Sumatra wrapper comes form a provate estate in Ecuador where the cloud over natrually shrouds the tobacco plants from direct sunlight.
Dark and oily, these beautiful wrappers surround a blend of aged Dominican tobaccos. The full-bodied Ashton VSG has bold and complex flavors. Tasting notes include rich notes of earth, cedar, spice and leather. A lot of these amzing flavors come from the considerable fermentation and aging process. The wrappers are fermented exclusively by the Fuente family and the binder and fillers are aged for four to five years.
The imense labor and expense that goes into the Ashton VSG really shines though, receiving a 94 rating and a consistent spot on Cigar Afficonado's Top 10 List. The full bodied flavors, unique richness and classic Ashton craftsmanship are all here, and the results are great.
