Birch Cones are a great alternative to alder cones. These cones don't stain the water as much alder cones, so if you don't like that brown stained water, these birch cones are right up your ally!
Great for shrimp, fish, and even reptiles! Shrimp get the added benefit of extra grazing area, and organic matter that breaks down into an important food source.
Package contains 1.5 ounces of birch cones (roughly 50-75 cones depending on cone size) which comes out to be about the same size as the 100 count alder cone package.
Preparation: We recommend boiling or steeping all your botanicals for at least 30 minutes (or longer if needed to sink) and soaking for a 2nd time in cold water, to allow them to cool down before placing in your aquarium. Do not add all botanicals at once.
